A little background…

A natural trendsetter and skilled industrial designer, August has extensive knowledge of the interior design and home furnishings industries. She is adept at designing iconic, top-selling products that evoke elegance with a playful edge. Whether designing furniture, lighting, textiles, soft goods, or decorative accessories, like anything else in her life, she approaches design and product development with a sense of curiosity, which has landed her working with brands such as DwellStudio, West Elm, and Anthropologie.

Taking projects from concept through production from her New Orleans studio, August has an acute ability to create unique solutions for the challenge at hand. Due to her eye for detail, passionate approach, and the positive impact of her work, her designs have been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Dwell Magazine, House Beautiful, and Better Homes & Gardens.

Besides being a globe-trotter between furniture factories, August also travels extensively for pleasure, having recently visited Turkey, Sri Lanka, and Peru. Although one might think she was born in the month of August, she was actually born in May.

…approach to design…

Discovery and curiosity are how every project starts out at the studio. August takes a deep dive into creating smart, thoughtful solutions tailored to the needs of individual projects and clients. This takes the form of aesthetic and functional research to craft compelling design directions, incorporating client feedback along the way.

Achieving this depends on gaining alignment across the scope of work, objectives, and timeline. Open lines of communication and collaboration are integrated from beginning to end. This is typically achieved through touch bases at key stages of the project, ensuring that goals, deliverables, and responsibilities are clearly defined.
